Glastonbury Festival 2014 is already a dim and distant memory which means the festival period for this year is now well and truly underway. With the UK weather as unpredictable as ever, packing for all conditions is an essential part of festival life. Festivals are not the place to be donning your latest Jimmy Chooís but is the time to be cool and stylish, with a natural look that can be created with minimal fuss.
Our festival going top tips will help you maintain your health and beauty even when you have limited washing facilities and clothes, come rain or shine.
Creating a hairstyle that requires minimum tending is probably the best way to manage a festival hairdo. Plaits or braids are a great way of ensuring your hair is tamed and kept under control, these sorts of styles will also help hide a multitude of sins such as greasy and frizzy hair. You could also invest in some dry shampoo which although wonít give you that just washed look, it should help your hair look cleaner. You could even try wearing a flower headband for an exotic new look thatís both stylish and trendy.
An essential item to add to your make-up bag for your festival weekend is waterproof eye make-up. If the weather turns wet or you have an emotional moment your make-up will stay intact and you wonít lose your place by the stage! Sunglasses are another essential item not to be forgotten. As well as protecting you from the sunís harmful rays, you can also hide tired and bloodshot eyes.
Festivals are not the place where you will find your own private bathroom. With limited facilities its best to turn up prepared for the worst. Make sure you are well equipped with baby wipes to give yourself a top to tail clean if all else fails. You could also invest in a microfibre travel towel and use good old fashioned soap and water for a fresher, cleaner wash. Drink plenty of water to keep you looking and feeling great.
When space is limited investing in one face cream that does everything is a great idea. Look around for a tinted moisturiser that also has SPF ingredients to protect your face from the elements. Using a tinted lip balm will also help add colour to your face.
Travelling light but with all the essential items will ensure you donít get stuck in the mud should the heavens open. Invest in some funky leggings, wellies and raincoat and remember to take layers to keep you warm rather than bulky clothes that take up too much space. Layers are much easier to remove and tie around your waist should the weather turn warm and sunny.
Above all have fun, stay safe and donít get sunburnt!
