Waxing

Qualification: Level 2 Award in wax depilation (QCF)

The level 2 Award in wax depilation (QCF) is a specialist qualification. You will gain knowledge and skills in the techniques required to remove unwanted hair in all areas with the use of hot and warm wax product. This course is often chosen with the thought of progressing onto further level 2 courses to build up and gain a full qualification as beauty therapist (see Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist techniques for more information)

Course content:

• Health & Safety in the salon
• Client Care & Communication
• Contra-indications / Contra-actions / Homecare / Aftercare
• Level 2 Anatomy & Physiology (relevant to studies)
• Consultation / Treatment Planning / hair & skin analysis / Aftercare / Homecare
• Waxing techniques for the safe removal of hair
• Full leg / half leg / Bikini line / Underarm / Upper lip / Chin / Eyebrows (Although it is not essential for gaining the qualification, extra training can be offered for Forearm, chest & back waxing)
• Case Studies / Tasks / Written paper for each unit / Portfolio / Assessments

Further Training/Progression: Threading, Advanced (Intimate) waxing, Manicure & Pedicure, Facials, Make-up, Eye Treatments, spray tanning, build up a full beauty therapy qualification

Career Paths: Beauty salons, Spas, Freelance/Mobile therapist, Consultant, become a specialist in your chosen area or expertise, become a fully qualified beauty therapist (build up qualifications to gain a level 2 in beauty therapy)

3 days (9.30-4.30) + 1 assessment day
