Media Make-up

Qualification: Level 3 award in Media Make-Up (QCF)

The level 3 award in Media Make-Up (QCF) is a specialist qualification. This award will provide you with the knowledge and skills you will need to enable you to provide fashion make-up treatments for photographic and television clients.

Course content:

• Health & Safety in the salon
• Client Care & Communication
• Contra-indications / Contra-actions / Homecare / Aftercare
• Special effects and media make-up.
• Create casualty effects and character looks, using the application of small prosthetics.
• Consultation and design briefing, including the use of mood boards
• Case Studies / Tasks / Written paper for each unit / Portfolio / Assessments

Entry Requirements: Certificate in cosmetic make-up or equivalent

Further Training/Progression: Photographic Make-Up, Waxing, Manicure & Pedicure, Facials, Make-up, Eye Treatments, Threading, spray tanning, build up a full beauty therapy qualification (build up qualifications to gain a level 2 in beauty therapy)

Career Paths: Make-up artist, Theatre Make-up, work salons, Freelance work, employment with make-up companies, representative, a specialist in your chosen area or expertise, become a fully qualified beauty therapist
