Qualification: Level 2 Certificate in cosmetic make-up (QCF)
The level 2 Certificate in cosmetic make-up (QCF) is a specialist qualification. You will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to carry out make-up techniques for different occasions, as well as shaping the eyebrows, tinting the eyelashes & brows and eyelash perming, all the treatments that will ensure you’ll be able to create a professional and fresh look! This course is often chosen with the thought to progress onto a media make-up, photographic make-up course or to add to additional short courses to become a fully qualified beauty therapist.
Course content:
- Health & Safety in the salon
- Client Care & Communication
- Contra-indications / Contra-actions / Homecare / Aftercare
- Level 2 Anatomy & Physiology (relevant to studies)
- Consultation / Treatment Planning / skin analysis / Aftercare / Homecare
- Skin types and conditions
- Make-up application using a wide range of Make-up products
- Using make-up to create a look for day / evening / special occasion / bridal
- Eyelash/brow tinting / eyebrow shaping / eyelash perming
- Case Studies / Tasks / Written paper for each unit / Portfolio / Assessments
Further Training/Progression: Media make-up, Photographic Make-Up, Waxing, Manicure & Pedicure, Facials, Make-up, Eye Treatments, Threading, spray tanning, build up a full beauty therapy qualification (build up qualifications to gain a level 2 in beauty therapy)
Career Paths: Make-up artist, Specialise in wedding Make-up, Work salons / Spas, Freelance work, employment with make-up companies, representative, become a specialist in your chosen area or expertise, become a fully qualified beauty therapist
