Qualification: Level 3 Stone Therapy Massage (QCF)

Stone Therapy Massage (QCF) is a level 3 specialist qualification. You will gain the skills and knowledge required to enable you to perform professional stone therapy massage treatments on clients, using hot and cold basalt stones. This qualification covers massaging and placing of stones on the head, face and body. You will be required to adapt stone therapy treatments to suit individual client’s needs.

Course content:

• Health & Safety in the salon
• Client care & communication
• Contra-indications / Contra-actions / Homecare / Aftercare
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Stone therapy massaging techniques using hot/cold basalt stones
• Case Studies / Tasks / Written paper for each unit / Portfolio

Entry Requirements: Certificate in Swedish massage or equivalent

Further Training/Progression: Sports massage, Indian head massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Hopi ear candles

Career Paths: Heath Clubs/Spas, Complimentary therapist, wellbeing centres, Doctor referral to complimentary therapists, self-employed (own salon/freelance therapist).
