Qualification: Level 3 diploma in Aromatherapy
The level 3 diploma in Aromatherapy is a specialist qualification. You will gain theory in Anatomy & Physiology, learn aromatherapy massage moves/techniques, the effects, benefits and properties of essential and carrier oils, choosing & blending oils to suit individual client needs.
Course content:
- Health, safety, hygiene and security
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Effects, benefits and properties of essential oils, carrier oils and how to blend to suit individual needs
- Prepare and provide an effective Aromatherapy massage treatment to suit individual needs
- Reflective practice
- Consultation & Communication
- Contra-indications / Contra-actions / Homecare / Aftercare
- Case studies / Written papers / tasks / portfolio / assessments
Entry Requirements: Level 3 certificate in Swedish massage or equivalent
Further Training/Progression: Reflexology, stone therapy massage, Indian head massage, sports massage, thermal auricular therapy.
Career Paths: Aromatherapist, Health spas, Beauty salons, complimentary therapist, doctor referrals, Freelance/Mobile therapist, specialist in your chosen area or expertise.
